  • Helping tenants moving into housing association tenancies

Currently ,when tenants leave a housing association property any remaining fittings and household appliances are stripped out so that the incoming tenants have to start from scratch. This causes unnecessary expenditure for the incoming tenant and is wasteful of local charity funds when tenants on low incomes have to apply for grants. So we are investigating the feasibility of an alternative scheme that would allow housing associations to gift furniture and fittings not required by outgoing tenants to incoming tenants.
